1. Use the right hashtags

Your goal on Instagram is to engage your current audience while also growing your following. Posting new, interesting and engaging photos will satisfy the first requirement, but to begin growing you’ll find hashtagging your photos to be extremely important. Hashtagging your photos makes it easy for people to find your photos that are searching for those specific terms.

So which hashtags should you use?

Just like with Twitter and other social sites, users on Instagram use certain hashtags over others. If you use the right hashtags within your photos, you’re much more likely to reach new users and be discovered.

Here are the current top 20 hashtags on Instagram according to Websta:

  1. #love (1,271,692,015)
  2. #instagood (742,795,562)
  3. #photooftheday (507,358,504)
  4. #fashion (487,010,088)
  5. #beautiful (463,668,566)
  6. #happy (427,528,663)
  7. #cute (418,686,470)
  8. #like4like (417,887,839)
  9. #tbt (413,049,020)
  10. #followme (392,011,012)
  11. #picoftheday (380,504,677)
  12. #follow (371,102,705)
  13. #me (348,193,980)
  14. #art (343,874,151)
  15. #selfie (337,204,715)
  16. #summer (324,498,110)
  17. #instadaily (323,307,593)
  18. #repost (309,603,537)
  19. #friends (307,567,075)
  20. #nature (303,040,276)

If you looked at the list above and said, “But none of those apply to my products or brand”, you’re likely correct.

Using hashtags is one thing, using the right tags is a completely different thing.

Popular tags like the ones listed above will likely net you additional engagement and likes, however they will not lead to increased long-term engagement, new interested followers, and most importantly, sales.

If you want to tag your photos properly, you’ll need to find and use the most relevant hashtags. This means doing the appropriate research to make sure you’re using hashtags that not only describe your brand, but are also being searched for on Instagram.

To find relevant hashtags, you’ll want to use a free online tool like IconoSquare or Websta to start.

Below, I used Websta to find relevant, related and popular hashtags for my men’s accessory brand by searching for key hashtags that are closely related to my brand.

As an example, searching the hashtag #MensFashion, I was able to pull the following list of additional keyword hashtags along with the number of times they have been used (popularity).

How to Get More Followers on Instagram

You can also find more related hashtags and their popularity if you search for any of your target keywords directly in the Instagram app.

You’ll want to go through this exercise trying different keywords that describe your brand and products, building out your hashtag keyword list as you go.

Keep in mind that Instagram allows for a maximum of 30 hashtags per post. Additionally, the popular words will change over time, so make sure you revisit your hashtag keywords every few months to make sure you’re using the best possible terms.

You can also steal hashtag ideas from competitors or similar accounts that have the kind of following you aspire to have, but you ultimately want to create your own groups of hashtags to use that relate to your specific account.

Protip #1: Here’s a trick that I use for my ecommerce businesses. For every product and product category for my stores, I have done the research to see which are the most popular Instagram hashtags around those product categories. I came up with 15-20 popular hashtags for each category of products I sell, as well as a base of 5-10 popular tags that describe my brand and product offering overall. Finally, I also created a list of popular local specific hashtags that relate to my brand.

For example:

(Brand Keyword Hashtags)

#mybrandname #mensfashion #mensaccessories #mensgoods #fashion #mensstyle #instafashion #menswear

(Product Category Keyword Hashtags)

#bugatchisocks #happysocks #corgisocks #socks #sockswag #socksoftheday #sockgame #sockswagg #socksofinstagram #happysockday #sockwars #funsocks #happysockday

(Location Specific Keyword Hashtags)

#Toronto #TorontoFashion #TorontoFashionBloggers

All of these groups of keyword hashtags are stored in a page on Evernote. This makes it easy and efficient when I’m on the go to post a new Instagram image, optimized for the most relevant keywords.

I can easily open my Evernote and copy my standard brand, product and location specific hashtags to post with each photo. Some Instagram scheduling tools also let you save caption templates that you can use to store your hashtag groups.

Doing the work upfront of researching, organizing and saving the most applicable and popular hashtags will save you a ton of time down the road, increase your engagement and help garner new followers.

Protip #2: If you’ve been posting to Instagram for a while and feel like you’ve missed out on all these opportunities to build your audience by using keyword hashtags, fret not. You can still go back and post a comment with your new hashtag keyword lists and watch the likes and followers roll in.

Using hashtags in Instagram Stories

Hashtagging on Instagram posts are a given, but you should also be using hashtags in your Stories for the chance to be seen by users who follow that specific hashtag.

You can use Hashtag Stickers (which can be found in the Stickers menu when creating a Story) or just hashtag directly in your captions for a chance to be featured in a Hashtag Story.

Now that users can follow hashtags, your Stories have a chance to be seen by both people who are following that hashtag and anyone who’s just checking it out.

2. Use the right filters

Keyword hashtags aren’t the only thing you should pay attention to. The Instagram community responds to certain photo filters more favorably than others. Using these preferred filters can have an impact on your engagement.

Here are the 10 current most popular filters on Instagram according to Iconosquare:

  1. Normal (No Filter)
  2. Clarendon
  3. Juno
  4. Lark
  5. Ludwig
  6. Gingham
  7. Valencia
  8. X-Pro II
  9. Lo-fi
  10. Amaro

TrackMaven did a recent study on Instagram accounts to see how filters affected engagement and found that Mayfair, Hefe, and Ludwig drove the most interaction.

But more important than the general Instagram community’s favorite filters, are your particular audience’s favorite filters. Consider this custom graph which correlates filter usage to engagement from my own Instagram account:

3. Post at the right times

Beyond adding the appropriate hashtags and using the best filters, you should also be considering the timing of your posts.

A targeted approach is to analyze what has and has not worked for you in the past. By visiting IconoSquare’s optimization section, you can get a detailed analysis of your posting history vs. engagement. This report will also highlight the best times of the day and days of the week to post.

The dark circles indicate when you usually post media. The light gray circles shows when your community has been interacting. The biggest light gray circles represent the best times for you to post.

You may want to consider using a social media scheduling tool to schedule and automatically publish your posts for when your audience is the most engaged.

4. Steal your competitor’s followers

One of the best ways to find and attract a new following is by seeking out your closest competitors’ Instagram accounts and engaging with their audience. These people have already shown some level of interest in the products you carry simply by following your competitors’ account.

So how do you effectively steal your competitors’ followers?

You can steal your closest competitors’ followers by engaging with them. There are several ways to engage with Instagram users, and the more work you put in, the more followers and repeat engagement you’ll get out of it.

The three types of engagement on Instagram are:

  • Follow a user
  • Like a photo
  • Comment on a photo

I ran an informal test with my business account to see how my competitors’ followers responded to my marketing advances. I targeted the followers of a close, local competitor. Since I know many of his followers would be local, I added my city to my profile to create a greater sense of familiarity between my brand and the people I am targeting.

I began by simply following 100 of my competitors’ followers. Later, I followed another 100 but I also took the time to like one of their photos. Finally, I followed a third group of 100 and liked as well as commented on one photo from each account..

Here were the results:

  • Follow: 14% followback
  • Follow + Like: 22% followback
  • Follow + Like + Comment: 34% followback

Although the are many variables and the test was far from scientific, the results were clear. The more you put in and engage with people, the more you’ll get out of it.

Note: While it’s against Instagram’s terms of service, some entrepreneurs use automation to follow the same process above. House of Hannie discusses this tactic and the pros and cons of it on the episode of Shopify Masters below.

5. Pay for sponsored posts and product reviews

All this optimized posting to your account is great but if you really want to make an impact, you need to take advantage of influencer marketing on Instagram, exposing your brand to a wider audience.

So how do you do that?

First, unlike the tactics above to grow your account this one usually isn’t free. However, if done correctly, it’s good value.

To get started, you’ll need to make a list of large accounts in your niche. For example, if you sell beauty products, you’ll want to find large accounts from beauty bloggers.

You may already be following these accounts, but if not you’ll need to find them. One of the best ways is to use Webstagram (mentioned earlier) and search for some of the closest hashtag keywords you uncovered in the beginning of this post. When you do a search for your keywords, not only will it show you the related keywords, but it also shows you the top Instagram accounts that feature those keywords.

There are a few things to look for in the profiles results:

  • A large following—usually 20k to 200k
  • An email address in the profile

If there is an email address in the profile, it usually means they’re open to sponsored posts or a shoutout in a sponsored Story.

You’ll want to email them and ask them their sponsored post pricing. In general, I have found the average rate to be around $20-$50 per post, depending on the size of their following.

However, if you’re selling a unique and original product, you may also want to consider sending them your product to review and post. The more natural and less advertisement-like the image, the greater the engagement and response usually.

You don’t necessarily need influencers with a massive following, but rather ones with a high engagement rate (likes and comments relative to follower size), which many influencer marketplaces can provide.

6. Use geotags for local discoverability

Besides hashtags, you can also make your Instagram posts and Stories discoverable by tagging your location, either the city you’re in or the venue where the photo or video was taken.

Locations not only have their own feed on Instagram but also their own Story just like hashtags that you can contribute to when you use the location sticker in your own Stories.

geotagging on instagram

Local businesses can get the most value out of location tags by posting regularly to these feeds and also engaging with posts from prospective customers who are physically in the vicinity.

7. Organize your Stories into Highlights

Whenever a potential follower lands on your profile, you have a short span of time to convince them to follow you.

One way to do this is by using the “Highlights” feature on your profile to organize your Instagram Stories in a way that communicates what your account is about.

Since Stories have a 24-hour lifespan, Highlights can be used to give them a second-life and entice others to follow you so they don’t miss out on more Stories in the future.

story highlights on instagram

Use Story Highlights to:

  • Create trailers that tease what your account is about
  • Organize your Stories into themes (like countries you’ve visited to for travel accounts)
  • Explain your products through pictures and videos
  • Promote your products using swipe-up links (you need at least 10K followers and a Instagram Business account to do this with your Stories)

8. Ask

It sounds obvious, but it deserves to be said: Don’t be afraid to occasionally ask your audience to follow you.

The same way YouTubers ask their viewers to follow them at the end of their videos, you can also ask viewers to follow you for more content.

Sometimes people might really enjoy what you put out on Instagram, but need a nudge before they actually follow you. Sometimes you just need to remind the users of a platform that they can subscribe to get more in the comments of a post.

You can also do this in your captions or even work it into your content by pitching what your audience will get if they follow you or hinting at content that’s coming up that they won’t want to miss.

9. Hop on trends

When the opportunity presents itself, aligning your content with trending topics or hashtags can improve discoverability and engagement.

For example, you can ride the wave of a trending topic or event, such as a holiday, in a relevant way to boost your engagement and reach. Or you can participate in one of the many hashtag holidays that exist, such as #NationalCoffeeDay (falling on October 1st in 2018). Mark relevant events in your calendar so you can prepare relevant content in advance.

Be sure to join the conversation in a meaningful way and when in doubt, ask yourself if your target audience would actually pay attention to the trend.

10. Run a giveaway

One of the best kinds of comments you can get on any social media post, not just Instagram, is a comment where one user tags a friend. Not only do these comments contribute to your post’s engagement, which in turn makes it favorable to the Instagram algorithm, but each tag brings you a new audience member who arrived through a recommendation and who you could potentially win over as a follower.

One way to encourage this behavior is by posting relatable content that begs for 1:1 sharing (e.g. A gym meme that asks you to tag a friend who skips leg day). But a more reliable way to get your audience to tag their friends is by running a giveaway that encourages your audience to tag a friend and follow your account.

Be sure to check out our post on running a giveaway for more, as well follow Instagram’s promotion guidelines and any legal requirements for running a contest that apply in your country of operation.

For inspiration, here’s an example of a successful product giveaway from the5th that incentivizes people to follow their account and tag a friend for the chance to win two free products for the both of them.

example of an instagram contest

11. Be consistent

Most of your followers won’t follow you for what you posted in the past but for the promise of what you’ll post in the future. Your audience wants to know what they’re going to get if they hit that follow button.

Having a feed with a consistent theme running through, where you publish at a consistent pace, can have just as much of an impact in growing a following as many of the other growth strategies we’ve covered above. Even a simple pattern can entice new followers, as long as it’s communicated at first glance to anyone who lands on your profile.

Consider your bio and your last 9 posts as your first impression on Instagram. Do they effectively communicate some degree of consistency through personality, filters, colors, or layout?

The layout of your grid is an often underestimated way to get creative with the aesthetic of your feed while adding a rhythm to your publishing strategy and consistency that’s worth following.

In fact, many accounts that adopt this approach are often able to spend less effort on creating content by focusing on converting visitors into followers, producing text graphics or other content with a faster turnaround and streamlining the overall production of their Instagram content.

You can use a tool like Later to easily plan out and schedule the look and layout of your feed in advance. Sonnet Insurance is just one example of how far some brands go with the aesthetic of their Instagram layout.

example of an instagram grid layout

12. Closely monitor your following over time

It’s not enough to get more Instagram followers if you’re losing them just as fast. Keep an eye on the rate at which you’re growing as well as how engaged your following is overall.

Social Blade is a great free tool for analyzing the growth of your following (or your competitors), showing you followers added and lost over time and on specific days.

measure your instagram following with social blade

With an Instagram Business account, you also get an Instagram Analytics dashboard which offers valuable insight for free that you won’t get anywhere else. You can see how many people are checking out your profile, how many people your posts have reached, what your most engaging posts are, and where most of your followers are from.

You can use this data to diagnose where you’re falling short and where you could do more.

Look for patterns in the posts that were the most engaging and try to replicate that in your future content.

13. Use the Instagram tools at your disposal

There are hundreds of Instagram tools out there that can help you and your Instagram strategy, but I mentioned three key ones to help you build your audience and engage with them over time:

  • Later Schedule and automatically publish your Instagram posts from your computer or mobile device.
  • IconoSquare: Info, analytics and insights into your account and followers.
  • Webstagram: Find the best hashtags for your posts and people for your sponsored posts.

You can find more in our list of top Instagram tools, as well as some apps to help you with creating and editing your content.

Grow an Instagram following that grows your business

In this post we talked about the most effective ways to use Instagram to build a targeted following, but it’s not always a numbers game. As with any social network, the most successful strategy overall is to be authentic and social.

If you focus on engagement, not just followers, Instagram can be a great home for your products and brand that can lead to a healthy stream of revenue for your ecommerce business.

How to Start a Business with Minimal Capital

Having been in the business world as a business owner for three decades, I have seen and heard a lot of different philosophies surrounding the proper and most effective way to start and sustain a business. By far, the most fallible notion surrounding business is that you cannot start one without a lot of money on hand. A barrage of adages underwrites this erroneous notion that contributes to this idea, including the most infamous of all — “it takes money to make money.” The truth is that it does not take money to make money; it takes capital to make money or start a new business, and money is only one form of capital.

Because of the way that most people view money, they limit their mobility and their willingness to pursue their passions. Capital can be any of a number of things, including money, real estate, an idea, intellectual property, and your mind — for starters. While every person does not have money readily available, we all have something of value through which we can negotiate our advancement. Edward C. Barnes showed up at the door of Thomas Edison with nothing but an idea and a desire to be in partnership with the great inventor. Edison saw the value in his passion and confidence and brought him on as an employee, but it would not be long before Barnes would realize his dream of being a partner with Edison, but he did not buy his way in, he “thought” his way in.

As Napoleon Hill wrote:

“Truly, “thoughts are things,” and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a burning desire for their translation into riches, or other material objects.”

The Psychology of Success

Success in business, as in any other area in life, adheres to a certain type of psychology, and while I am going to provide tips as to how you can start a business with little to no capital, these tips will serve no purpose if you are not operating under the right psychological framework. Basically, if your thoughts and beliefs about yourself are not in alignment with your goals, you will still struggle. In fact, your thoughts are more important than your strategies.

In my book, Your Mind Is the Genesis of Your Destiny, I go into great detail in describing how your thoughts are literally seeds that will produce a harvest in the future in the form of real circumstances, situations, and realities. You control your destiny by controlling your thoughts. So, the success of your business depends on you having the right frame of mind as much as it does on the availability of capital.

My suggestion is that you work on developing the right mindset before you start your business; it will make all the difference in the world. Look, over the last 30 years, I have successfully launched and sustained 46 companies and counting, with all of them reaching profitability in under a year. I have authored and published 19 books, and I am currently writing book number 20. I have purchased my dream house (five different times), traveled around the world and done things I once could not even imagine. What I can tell you is that it all started inside my head.

It started by expanding the range of my beliefs about myself and what I could accomplish. I learned that the only limitations I had were those I excepted in my mind and that when I believed I could do something, and I acted, I got the results I was looking for. These results rarely came without challenges, but when you believe something you develop an inexorable desire to push through every challenge. At the end of the day, it is not what you know, your skill set, your resources, or your connections that will push you through the difficult moments to the point of success, it is your belief in yourself and the willingness to go the entire distance.

At The Visionetics Institute, a company I founded and run, I help people optimize their potential and achieve their wildest dreams by helping them shift paradigms in a manner that allows them to see themselves and the world through a lens that says, “I can.” If you are interested in learning how to create these paradigmatic shifts, you can work directly with me for optimal results or you can take the Power of Paradigms Course I created for the person on the go. This is for certain, if your personal psychology is not in alignment with your desires, having the right business strategies and mechanisms will not do you much good.

Know Your Why

Before offering some key tips that will help you with launching your business idea with minimal capital, there is one other point that is immensely important. You must know your “why” and your “why” must be big enough to push you through all the challenges that you are going to face as you push through life and take on challenges in a quest to satisfy your passions. Your “why” is your reason for doing what you do. Some people do it because they want to provide a certain type of lifestyle for their family and others do it to satisfy their competitive thirst, and still, others do it because they want to have the resources on hand to serve others through philanthropic interests.

Whatever your “why” is it must be big enough to get you through those intensively challenging moments. See, no matter how hard you attempt to circumvent struggle, disappointment, loss, and delay, they are a part of the process that is essential to living in the promise of your design. I tell my clients all the time that “process” precedes “promise.” There can be no obtainment of the promise (of your design and potential) without there first being an endurance of the process. When you attempt to circumvent the process, you neutralize the promise.

Ask yourself, why am I doing this? Make sure that your why is bigger than you. Your “why” should be so huge that it will be bigger than any challenging moment that you will face. It must be big enough to push you through delay, hurt, disappointment, and fear. When your “why’ is big enough, you will become an unstoppable force.

The Vision

Building a business is like anything else; it is not only about the mechanics and business models, but about the holistic flow of the creator — you. Is your vision for your company crystal clear? The lack of lucidity in way of vision is one of the greatest inhibitors for long-term success. It is hard to manifest what you cannot clearly see. Therefore, I advocate the use of vision boards and priming sessions. Vision boards allow you to bring the image of your vision and goals into the physical realm so that they can be clearly seen and visualized. Priming is a technique I use every morning to ensure that I am in the right “state” of mind to optimize my day while staring down all challenges that emerge without becoming frenetic and unglued. Your “state” is of immense importance in ensuring your consistent and long-term success in business and every other area of your life.

Perfect Timing & Perfect Opportunities Do Not Exist

Now, say that you have your mind in the right “state” and you have effectively eliminated the limiting beliefs that would serve as major obstacles to you building a thriving business, what is next? Get started. There is no such thing as the perfect timing or the perfect opportunity. Opportunities do not fall out of the sky; they are either discovered through diligent research and effort or they are created through innovative and lateral thought — thinking outside of the box. Understand that “the box” that people are always attempting to force you to operate in is simply an illusion created by someone else’s limiting beliefs and then forced upon others who readily accepted them.

Over the course of my life, I have often been categorized as being contumacious. I even have a tattoo across my entire back that says, “RENEGADE.” I refuse to allow someone else’s beliefs and opinions to serve as the parameters for my performance in life. When the force of my belief in myself is infused into proper planning and execution, there is literally nothing that I cannot accomplish, and you are no different.

Reduce Your Entry Expenses & Lower Sustainability Costs

Now that your mind is properly calibrated to produce your desired reality, you must prepare to take action, and being prepared requires a plan. One of the major causes of failure for young entrepreneurs is the failure to plan. Not only does a business plan provide a clear projection of your business’s direction and performance goals, but it serves as the visual blueprint for your day-to-day execution. Going out without a clear idea of where you are going or how you are going to get there is a recipe for failure.

Get in top physical condition with the VTX-12 Fitness Program!

If I had to choose between having the right psychology or the right strategy or plan, I would choose psychology every time, because without it the right plan will mean absolutely nothing. However, I prefer to have both because the plan will bring about stability and a systematic way to pace myself and measure my progress. Part of having the right psychology is the demand of excellence you place on yourself, which in turn should demand that you create an effective and comprehensive business plan. Plus, a well thought out and a well-written business plan is actually a form of capital that can secure the funding you need to support your start-up.

There are some steps that you can take to minimize costs and expedite growth with your new business including:

  1. Choose a Business that Does Not Require a Lot of Equipment

Reducing your initial overhead is immensely important to creating a low entry point and low operating costs. The low overhead will alleviate some of the financial stress associated with high expenses and it will also allow you to reallocate your resources toward those areas that are essential for business growth, such as marketing and branding.

  1. Operate as a Sole Proprietor Initially

By starting your business as a sole proprietor, you will avoid the initial cost of filing to be recognized as a corporation or limited liability business entity. Basically, you can apply at the county clerk’s office to operate your business under a fictitious name known in most states as a DBA (doing business as) and this can normally be done for as little as $10 but not more than $20. However, you will want to file your articles of incorporation as soon as possible because there are multitudinous benefits associated with incorporating your business. Another business model you may want to eventually consider is operating as an unincorporated business trust (also known as a Massachusetts Trust), which can offer even greater tax protections that a traditional corporation cannot provide — but that is a little later down the line.

  1. Remain Employed on Your Current Job

Until you have created a business that has the capacity to sustain your current lifestyle, it might be in your best interest to hang on to your existing job. While it will limit your reserve energy and time, it will provide a sense of security and it can also be a source of funding during tough times.

  1. Hire Contractors or Outsource Instead of Hiring Employees

One of the largest expenses of any company is payroll, and you can significantly mitigate this expense by hiring contractors or outsourcing work that you are not capable of doing yourself to a third-party service provider. For instance, marketing and accounting responsibilities are commonly outsourced on an as-needed basis.

  1. Produce on Demand Instead of Maintaining Large Inventories

Another huge expense is investing in the purchase of inventory products and the storage of those products. Whenever possible you want to purchase products on demand. Another option is to use a drop-shipping model in which you take orders from your clients and then buy the product from the distributor or manufacturer and have it drop-shipped to the customer, which means the package will be shipped by the manufacturer directly to the customer with your business name on the package. Obviously, this is an approach for a product-driven business.

  1. Grow the Company in Phases

One strategy I use when scaling my businesses is I allow the consumer demand and consumer interests to dictate how rapidly I expand products and services. Basically, instead of creating something and then attempting to figure out how to get people to buy it, I monitor the existing demands and problems in the market that demand solutions and then I meet those needs. This type of growth model is demand-driven and never leaves you in a situation in which you have grown your company in a direction contrary to your target market.

As you become more astute in business, you will begin to read the market and predict trends before they occur — allowing you to get ahead of the curve and dominate the market, but that comes with experience and insight.

Generally speaking, starting a business requires capital, but that capital does not necessarily have to be money when you are able to think laterally and recognize the capital you have available in other areas. I have started more than one business with no out of pocket expenses (as far as currency). In fact, I have gotten my future clients to pay for the development of the product or service they would receive from me through a simple model known as a seed launch. Remember, you are only limited by your mind and when you open your mind to unlimited possibilities, anything becomes possible.

Personally, I don’t operate through the conventional wisdom of business ownership, it is too restrictive. I tend to dare to do the impossible. While it is much more challenging and risky, not many others are flying in this rare air, which means less competition and greater gains.

If I had to leave you with one thought it would be, do you and let the chips fall where they may! ~ Rick Wallace, Ph.D., Psy.D.

Note: The rapid advancement of technology and the massive expanse of the internet has completely unleashed a global marketplace where literally anyone is welcome to play. With the right mindset and a well-devised plan, you can enter the world of business and it will not require a massive amount of upfront capital.

How To Make Well Over $100 Every Day On Yahoo Answers

Yahoo Answers Photo

In “How To Make Well Over $100 Every Day On Yahoo Answers” I’ll be taking you through a couple of different methods which will show you how to make money on Yahoo Answers. Yahoo Answers receives around 50 million visits every day, and it’s not just the sheer volume of traffic that makes this an ideal place for us to make money.

This is 50 million people a day who are looking for answers to problems they have! It’s like Christmas come early for marketers as we can swoop in and provide the solution to those problems while making some good money in the process.

BONUS: I’ll be showing you two different methods in this tutorial, both have the potential to net you the magic ‘$100 a day’ income quite comfortably, if you put the work in and follow the steps I’ve detailed below. What’s even better is that in my FREE ‘Bonus Download’ at the end of this tutorial I’ll also be showing you how you can set these methods to ‘autopilot’ so you can earn money from Yahoo Answers in your sleep, and achieve those triple figure earnings days a lot quicker! I’ll also be giving you some tried and tested examples I used to use to make over $4,000 per month on Yahoo Answers in the FREE Bonus Download at the end of the tutorial, so don’t forget to download it before you go! Right, let’s get on with it…

Here are the two methods I’ll be covering:

1. The Niche CPA Method.

2. The Answer Your Own Question SEO Method.

Let’s start off with method 1;

The Niche CPA Method

If you’ve never been on Yahoo Answers before, below is a screen shot of what you will see when you click on the ‘Browse Categories’ tab:

Make Money On Yahoo Answers

As you can see, there are lots of different categories where people can post questions. Within most of these categories there are further sub categories which allow you to refine your question even more. What you need to do first of all is have a good look through these categories as this is where you first need to find a niche to target.

How To Make Well Over $100 Every Day On Yahoo Answers

What you are looking for is niches where you can answer the users’ questions and provide a link in the ‘source’ box to your website which they can then click to visit.

Level 2 accounts

100-Dollar-YahooAnswersBefore you can post live links in Yahoo Answers, you must first have a ‘Level 2’ account. You achieve this by gathering 250 points on Yahoo Answers. This doesn’t take long at all; you can get there in less than 20 minutes by doing the following:

  1. Create three Yahoo Answers accounts.
  2. Login to one of the accounts (The main one you are going to use to get to level 2) and you will get 100 points for logging in straight away. Then search for something on Yahoo Answers, it can literally be anything. Then scroll down and save the search. After you’ve saved that, search for something else and then save that search. By saving two searches you will get another 20 points.
  3. Now login to one of the other two accounts and post 5 questions, they can be in any section and about anything. Copy the URLs of the questions to notepad. Logout and log back in to the main account and answer all five questions with any answer. Then logout and back in to the account you posted the questions on and award the answers posted with the main account as ‘Best Answer’ for each question. This will award you another 50 points (10 points per best answer). Repeat this process with the other account of the three to get another 50 points, now your main account will have a rating of 220 points.
  4. Finally, login to the main account again and you will still have your daily answer posting limit of 20 left. For each answer you post, you get 2 points. Go ahead and post 15 short answers to random questions and you’ve reached the magic 250 points required to reach level 2 and post live links in your future answers.

TIP: You will only have to do this process once as now you have a level 2 account you can rate and vote for best answers on other people’s questions. This means now you can create a new account and post another 20 answers. However, you need to pick your 20 answers strategically.

Search for any keyword you want and once you’ve searched for it, on the left hand side you’ll see the ‘Refine search’ box. On the ‘Question Status’ drop down menu, select ‘Open Questions’ and from the ‘Date Submitted’ drop down menu, select ‘Last 7 days’ then search again.

Now sort the search by ‘Oldest’. You now have questions that are still open and 7 days old, this is perfect for us as we can get answers in to these questions and they are about to go in to voting very soon. Once you’ve answered these questions, copy the URL of the new account’s profile page and put it in a notepad file.

The next day, login to your level 2 account and go through all the questions you answered on the new account the previous day. Most of these questions will now be ‘In Voting’, which means as a level 2 account holder, you can go through each one and vote your new account’s answers as best answers.

The vast majority of people don’t assign best answers so you’ll get best answer for most of the questions, which alone should bump you up over the 250 on that account too.

Monetisation

Ok, now that the technical stuff is out the way, we can concentrate on the money making side of this method. As I mentioned before, you need to find some categories that you can pair up with some niche products that you can promote on Yahoo Answers.

If you are struggling to find some then don’t worry, I’ve included two great examples in the freeBonus Download at the end of this tutorial which I have personally used in the past to make good money from.

Website

Now, before you go and start hammering Yahoo Answers with links to your offers, you need to first make sure you have a website in place with an opt in form. You’ll notice that in most of my money making tutorials I recommend having an opt in form on your website.

The reason for this is that it’s very important you capture the details of as many of your visitors as you can on your email list. If you don’t already have a website with an opt in script installed, I recommend you use Aweber for the opt in email list software and a WordPress blog hosted on Bluehost.

If you don’t already have a domain name, then head over to GoDaddy and get yourself one. If none of that makes any sense to you, click here to read my step by step instructions on how to build a website from scratch in under 10 minutes.

For this method, if you are going to be targeting multiple niches, the best idea is to create a generic site with different niche targeted pages containing specific sales copy. You then use the specific links to the pages with the sales copy and products/offers as your ‘Source’ link for that niche when posting your answers.

So when posting your answer to someone who is looking to ‘make money online’ for example, you’d put your answer in and then in the source box you’d leave your link to http://www.yoursite.com/your-make-money-online-page/.Aweber logo

NOTE: Another reason you MUST use a website, or at least a landing page for this method, is because Yahoo will ban your account very quickly if you are simply posting affiliate links over and over. Any links you use as the source must provide some sort of value. So simply put together either, a helpful article with affiliate links in it and an Aweber opt in form, or a squeeze page to simply capture the users’ email address so you can promote to them over and over.

Offers

Ok, with your website in place you are ready to start getting offers to promote to all the new traffic that you are generating. There is literally no limit on the amount of products, offers and services you can promote. I’ve listed some of the best networks that you can join below to get access to hundreds of different things to promote:

  • MaxBounty – These guys are one of the best affiliate networks out there and have hundreds of offers on the network that you can promote. They also pay out weekly to their affiliates!
  • ShareASale/LinkShare – Two large networks with a massive range of offers.
  • FreebieJeebies/Kudos Network/CashCrate/Xpango – These are sites that let you redeem money or free gifts of your choice in return for referring new users.
  • Monetise – This is a CPA network like MaxBounty, but they cater to UK offers only. A very good network to find lots of good converting offers for your UK traffic.
  • MarketHealth – These guys are the largest health and beauty affiliate network out there. They have got lots of very well converting products you can promote and are perfect for this method!

Go and sign up to some of these networks (or all of them if you prefer) now, by clicking the links it will open the sites in a new window/tab and you can get signed up to them right away and start browsing the offers. You can also find a list of all the networks I currently use on myAffiliate Programs page by clicking here.

For this method, the kind of offers you are looking to promote are offers that have wide appeal and are preferably free for the user to participate. Offers such as:

  • Email/Zip Submits – You will find hundreds of these offers to promote on MaxBounty and Monetise. They usually request the user to fill out information in order to win a free prize like an iPod or a TV for example. These offers usually payout between $1 and $2 for a first page submit. This may not sound like much but it adds up very quickly as the volume of traffic you send to the offers increase!
  • Make Money Online/Survey Sites – You’ll find these offers on MaxBounty, Monetise, ShareASale and LinkShare. Almost everyone is interested in making extra money so these offers are perfect for this method. Again, they cost nothing to join for the user.
  • FreebieJeebies, Kudos Network, CashCrate and Xpango are all perfect for this method of promotion also.
  • You will find lots of health related CPA offers that pay out decent commissions on sales at Market Health. I have promoted a lot of their products in the past and they convert extremely well.

Scale it up

If you do this and have separate pages for multiple niches, all with opt in forms and an Aweberemail scheduler set up to promote even more products to your new visitors, you can make a very good amount of cash just from this method alone.

As I always say, once you’ve found a way to make money online, it’s all about scaling and outsourcing the method so you can enjoy the benefits of not having to break your back doing the manual work yourself any more.

You could just keep on manually creating accounts and manually posting on lots of different niches all day, but who wants to do that? At the end of this tutorial I’ll be showing you how to take both these methods, scale them up AND turn them both in to passive income earners for you! Firstly though, let’s look at method number 2;

The Answer Your Own Question SEO Method

This method requires a little more work in the beginning to make it work; however, it has the potential to make you a long term recurring income for many years to come. I still receive sales and commissions to this day from Yahoo Answers questions I have ranked using this method from over three years ago!

The method basically involves posting questions on Yahoo Answers, then answering your own question with a link to your site in the answer, then ranking the question in Google for your targeted keywords. Below I’ll explain the most effective way of doing it to maximise your profit.

Monetisation

Like the first method we just covered, you must first find the niches you want to target and also find suitable offers and products to promote within that niche. You’ll find a list of networks to sign up to here where you’ll be able to find hundreds of different products and offers to promote.

Keyword research

Once you have selected a few different products to promote, your next move is to do some keyword research. My favourite keyword research tool is Market Samurai. It speeds up the keyword research process and also offers other important keyword competition data that is invaluable. Best of all, you can get a free trial of the software by clicking here.

Now by using Market Samurai for this, you will be able to find long tail keywords which have quite low competition in the search engines. A long tail keyword is a phrase that contains over 3 words in it, e.g. ‘How to make money on Yahoo Answers’.

They don’t receive huge amounts of traffic so this usually means there is less SEO competition from other sites. I’ve found some absolute gems in the past using Market Samurai which I’ve then been able to rank number 1 in Google for in less than a week.

TIP: Check out my Market Samurai review to find out exactly how it works, how you can get the free version and how you can get a huge discount on the full version! Click here to find out more.

The other advantage you have using Yahoo Answers for this method is that the site has a lot of authority in Google’s eyes so the pages rank very easily in Google search engines.

Website

Now you have your products/offers and have done your keyword research, you need to build a website to send the traffic from Yahoo Answers to. Again, if you don’t know how to build a website then check out my tutorial on how to build a WordPress website in less than 10 minutes here.

If you do know how to build a website then get your domain name from GoDaddy and use Bluehost to get your WordPress blog set up without any hassle!

Again, to make the most out of the traffic from Yahoo Answers, you don’t just want to sell to these people once. You should make sure you install an opt in form, using Aweber, on your website to capture the name and email address of your visitors so you can sell other related products or offers to them in future.

Method

Ok, now you’re ready to create Yahoo Answers accounts. With this method, it’s best to sign up for as many accounts as you can before starting. With each new account you can post 5 questions straight away. So if you create five accounts, you can post 20 questions across the four of them, and then answer those questions with the link to your website using the fifth account.

So, for example, let’s say you were promoting a CPA offer from MaxBounty, which was to help people make money online. You have a list of long tail keywords that you’ve gathered using Market Samurai and your website is in place. Firstly you’d want to post a question in Yahoo Answers like:

‘What is the Fastest Way to Make Money Online?’

You’d then post another four questions with titles that either exactly match, or contain your targeted keyword in it. Also, if possible, try and include your keyword twice in the title or get a related keyword in to the title as well. Also try and include the keyword, or a related keyword, in the actual question that you ask as well.

Once these five questions are posted, log out of that account, log in to the account you’re going to use to answer the questions and then answer all five questions. Remember when answering these questions to include the target keyword again, as well as other secondary keywords. Then include the link to your website in the reply and in the source box.

Once you’ve answered all five questions, you now want to log out of that account and back in to the account you posted the five questions in. Now go through each question and select the answers you have posted as ‘Best Answer’.

You will now have five questions posted with your answers all marked as best answer and nobody else will be able to comment on the question now either. Copy and paste the URLs of each question in to a notepad file and type the targeted keyword beside each URL.  Now you just simply rinse and repeat this process until you have a question and an answer with your link on it for every one of your targeted keywords.

This can be a long process but if you want to really scale this up, don’t worry; I have the perfect solution for you at the end of this tutorial!

SEO

Now you have your list of URLs, it’s time to start getting them climbing the search engines. As I said before, if you’ve done your keyword research properly using Market Samurai, you will have a nice big list of low competition long tail keywords which you will be able to get ranking well in Google in no time at all.

For this process I use lots of different software including, Article marketing Robot, the Ultimate Demon and SEnuke XCr. You can find all the essential SEO software I use listed on my ‘Tools of the Trade’ page here. For ranking Yahoo Answers pages for keywords that have a little tougher competition, try using guest posts.

Here’s how to automate the entire process…

While doing both the methods listed above can be very profitable, it can also take a lot of time and labour to set them up and then maintain and scale them. However, the clever people over at Answer Assault have created software which automates the ENTIRE PROCESS of BOTH the methods I’ve explained to you in this tutorial.

Head over to the Answer Assault website and watch the video on their homepage to see the software in action! After reading this tutorial you will understand just how powerful this software is and how quickly it will be able to boost your income!

Start a Business with Little to No Initial Capital

Start a Business with Little to No Initial Capital

Release the Entrepreneur HeaderThere are an increasing number of individuals who aspire to own their own business. In fact, I would postulate that a significant amount of the American population has caught the entrepreneurial bug at some point in their life; however, the enthusiasm and excitement that normally come with being infected by this bug normally subsides rather quickly. The most prevalent reason that people allow their dream or vision of owning their own business to diminish so quickly is the postulation that they simply don’t have the capital to invest in a new business.

The truth is that there are numerous business endeavors that do require a substantial amount of capital in order to get the business up and running; however, there are multitudinous business opportunities that require little to no initial investment, especially when you start looking at online business opportunities.

The brief article will walk you through some of the options that you have at your disposal. You can also check out my book Earn $100 in 24 Hours Online to get some great ideas that you can implement immediately.

Things to Consider Regardless to the Route You Take

When analyzing different options in the business market, there are certain things that should be considered regardless of what direction you believe you are heading in. According to Chris Guillebeau, the author of The $100 Startup, in order to experience success when launching a business without a lot of capital, it is immensely important to give some serious consideration to your particular skill set and how you can use your skill set to help others.

Resell and Existing Product

Reselling existing products is one of the simplest ways to make money. There are a number of ways that this can be done. One of the most common ways of doing this is to open up an online retail business in which you promote products that are housed and shipped by another company. This is called drop shipping. There are some companies that will house the product and ship the product under your name. This gives the customer the impression that the merchandise is coming from you. Shopify has a great drop shipping guide that will walk you through the process of how to set up your business.

Affiliate marketing is also a powerful mechanism for making money without having to make an initial investment. There are step-by-step plans in Earn $100 in 24 Hours Online that explain everything that you need to know about affiliate marketing. Basically, affiliate marketing is the process of promoting other business’s services and products and then receiving a commission for every sale that you produce. There is almost an endless list of programs that offer affiliate programs, such as RapBank, Click Bank, Amazon and more. You can find products in any niche that you can possibly think of. There is even a niche for showing people how to build niches.

Selling Your Own Services

If you have a skill set such as writing, accounting or any value-rich service that people are willing to pay for, you can start your business with very little capital. In some cases, you can start without any capital, if you are willing to post ads in the online classifieds. However, I would recommend investing in an online presence, such as a website. A website provides immediate credibility, and it provides a conduit through which you can promote your business.

In order to build, promote and brand your business, there are certain things that you will need to learn, and there are plenty of online tools that will help minimize the learning curve. For instance, there will be a need to understand how to drive traffic to your website. What good is a website that is not getting any visitors? There are some great online eBooks that can help you out in this area. One book that does a good job helping with traffic is Instant Traffic Short Cuts. One of the biggest mistakes made by new business owners is failing to put in the time and effort to build solid and consistent traffic to their site. Instant Traffic Short Cuts will definitely help get you off to a great start.

Branding is Vital

Branding is an essential element to the building of any business, and the logo is one of the best places to start. A good logo is simple, but unique. It has the capacity to deliver the primary message of the business, and it should be recognizable at a glance. Hiring a graphic designer to create a logo can be expensive, but fortunately, there is a great resource called 5 Minute Logos, which allows you to create professional looking logos is a little as five minutes, without having to use Photoshop. What is good about this resource is that not only can you use it to create your own logo, but you can also use it as a side business opportunity, creating logos for others.

Building a Profitable and Responsive Email List

The one thing that has remained steady throughout the expansion and evolution of online enterprise is the effectiveness of email lists. A responsive email is priceless, and your ability to build a responsive and profitable email list is vital. One of the best resources available to show you how to successfully build a list that is capable of producing a six-figure income Kick-Ass List Building. This guide provides step by step instructions on how to build a list that you will be able to use over and over again to present products and services to your customers.

When it boils down to it, you can build an online business with little to no money; however, it is worth investing a small amount of capital in resources that will help to save you time. You can purchase how-to resources and build a site for a couple of hundred dollars easily, and once you get things going you can always upgrade the site and any other elements of the company that you wish to upgrade. When it comes to building a website or blog, I would personally suggest using WordPress. WordPress is easy to set up, and you can have your site up and running in less than an hour, if you already have the content.

Content is immensely important for the purpose of search engine optimization and customer engagement. You want to create content that is relevant to your target audience. If you are not up to the task of creating the content, my PR and Marketing firm, Odyssey Media Group will be more than happy to handle that for you at a very reasonable fee, simply email me at rickwallace@odyssey-mediagroup.com.

There are numerous other options that I will begin sharing in an upcoming post, such as blogging, freelance writing, CPA promotions and more. Until then, check out some of the opportunities mentioned here and get started. Remember, there are no perfect moments, you have to simply step out and take control. ~ Dr. Rick Wallace, Ph.D.

Powerful Methods for Using Private Label Rights (PLR) to Make Money

Powerful Methods for Using Private Label Rights (PLR) to Make Money

The expansive reach of the internet conjoined with the remarkably flexible dynamics of social media has presented an unparalleled opportunity for marketers to develop highly efficacious marketing platforms online. Whether marketers are promoting online businesses, brick and mortar operations or functioning as affiliate marketers, the opportunities are vast; however, creating effective online marketing campaigns require an exorbitant amount of content. Creating enough content can become a challenge for marketers. However, PLR content serves as a viable solution to the challenge.

For a marketer to be successful, they will need content for their website and blog, content to share on social media and web 2.0 sites as well as messages for their autoresponder series and more. There is a great chance that if you are an experienced marketer, you have sat down at your computer on multitudinous occasions with that empty look on your face as you pondered the thought of how you were going to generate enough content to meet your goals.

You have more than likely thought to yourself — there has to be a better way. Enter one of the most effective tools at the disposal of any online marketer — PLR content!

For any of you who may be a novice in the online marketing game, PLR stands for private label rights, which means that the original author is granting certain limited or unlimited rights for the purchaser to claim the content as their own — using it in any way that they see fit. The potential uses for PLR content are rather obvious to the marketer, especially the one who is suffering from a massive case of writer’s block.

This article will provide several methods that will allow you to use PLR content to market and earn money online. For a more comprehensive course on how to use PLR content, you should check out PLR Stripped Bare!

Building out Your Own Sites

Organic traffic is a significant contributor to a website’s customer base. Organic traffic is generated through web searches conducted through the major search engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo. Anyone who is familiar with SEO understands that fresh and unique contact is a vital part of the process of getting the major search engines to rank your site higher than your competitors. However, having the capacity to stay on top of a regular publishing schedule can become quite tedious, making PLR content a life saver. There is PLR content available in almost every niche imaginable, from online marketing to scrapbooking. This makes it easy to find content that you will be able to modify and post to your affiliate marketing machine.

PLR Works Great for Backlinking

For the marketer that is focusing on affiliate marketing that uses SEO or certain promotional techniques that require a high-level of content, PLR has the capacity to help you generate the text that will be necessary to populate these sites in a rapid manner that cannot be accomplished through writing them all on your own. Proper Backlinking strategies definitely require an exceptional amount of content.

Create Professional Looking Logos in 5 Minutes!

It is paramount to understand that the fact that PLR is available to the masses, the chances are rather high that you will not be the only person who has access to a piece of content — meaning that you will need to ensure that the content is modified in a manner that will be sufficient enough to render it unique. This is especially important for sites such as Ezinearticles and HubPages.com.

For those of you who feel that modifying or rewriting the content may be more trouble than it is worth, the key is understanding that you don’t have to rewrite the content yourself. There are plenty of freelance sites online with writers that will rewrite content for pennies on the dollar.

One method of using PLR that does not call for a significant amount of modification is when the content will be used as a part of your autoresponder or email content lineup. Because there will be no search engine ranking, there is no need for highly unique content; however, you will still want to ensure that the content is ideal for your audience. A great resource to use to learn more about the power of email marketing is Kick Ass List Building! If you have not started building your email list, you are literally leaving money on the table in a substantial way.

Developing Your Own Product

One of the top methods for earning money online in the affiliate marketing niche is to create your own info products. As you can imagine, creating your own info-product is much easier to say than it is to do. For instance, writing an entire eBook can be considerably time consuming. There is the process of conceptualizing the general theme, research, creating the outline and more. This is one area where outsourcing is not a good idea for two primary reasons: a good writer will be expensive and they may decide to take your idea for themselves.

There is no shortage of PLR eBooks that are available for purchase for as cheap as a couple of bucks, meaning that you can have your own product up and ready to go within a couple of hours. Another option that you have is to string together multiple PLR articles to develop a detailed report.

For a person like myself, PLR content is limited due to my specific writing style and area of expertise; however, I use it to help me fight writer’s block. PLR content is a great source for developing ideas for your next white paper or book. The key is to understand that for the amount of content that you can get is the average PLR bundle, it simply behooves you to invest in it and archive it until you need it.
